Praise
Pelor! Just in the time for the holidays, it's the seventh (and hopefully last) installment of my traditional
Needfest Specials. Over the years it's been fun writing and putting these lengthy comics together, and every year I swear I have nothing left, but then the holiday spirit inspires me at the last minute to entertain the Greyhawk masses. If you are not familiar with the Needfest Specials try the
Greyhawk Comics link at the top of the page or check out a couple of my personal favorites here:
A Needfest Story (
Where Kas obsesses over getting a new magic sword for Needfest)
How the Gruumsh Stole Needfest (
A classic tale of jealousy and revenge)
Lastly, I'd like to give a special Needfest thanks to
Maldin's Greyhawk for hosting the entire
Greyhawk Comic collection. Now without further ado....here is this year's
Needfest Special! Enjoy!
Nice, Mort!
ReplyDeleteYou know ... as long as I have been at Canonfire (which is just past four years, for those of us doing the counting), you've been here, producing great comics, entertaining us, and generally being a great fan and friend! I'm glad to see that you're celebrating yet another Needfest with us.
Hey - while I am thinking of it, you once did a terrific epic history lesson in comic form, and there was some really great stuff there ... but, I can't find it on your site. I'd thought that it was a special, a couple or three years ago, but, I can't find it anywhere! Help!
Always happy to entertain the community. It gets harder the longer I do it, but I have fun nonetheless.
ReplyDeleteHistory of the cosmos or history of D&D Greyhawk?
Both should be on my Comics section on this blog.
Mort, you never cease to mesmerize, my friend. Don't know what we'd do without you.
ReplyDeleteEspecially at Needfest time!
I hope and pray that your imagination never gives out on us.
I've gone back several times, and I re-read, and I laugh ... and laugh, and laugh. Mort, going back through these old issues just cracks me up.
ReplyDeleteYou've done such a wonderful job over the years, I hate to say it, but, I hope that you don't run out of material, and that you do it again next year.
And BTW, I figured out that if I change the host-name in the address of you comics, I can still access the comic that I had saved for research. It was the History of D&D Greyhawk. It was comic #264.
Like rum and eggnog this is a holiday tradition I always look forward to.
ReplyDeleteNice to see a shout out to the meazels (I've always thought they were some cool critters), but you saved the best for second last - that Emirkol song had me laughing out loud.
Great stuff!
Mort,
ReplyDeleteYou read too many Bard on the Run articles. Aoric might have recite a poem something about the Night before Bone March.
