I have another new article to report over at the Greyhawk fansite, Canonfire! This one is entitled Castle Ravenloft in Greyhawk, and it is the second article for the author masterarminas. The subject of his work is by no means new to the Greyhawk community, but here the author shows us one possible version of how Barovia can fit into the Flanaess...Masterarminas writes:
"From its founding during the height of the Great Kingdom, to the fall of Strahd, we present this adventure location in a manner that ties it into the history and timeline of the World of Greyhawk."

I was disappointed to see no tips in explaining the gothic architecture and clothing, as well a technological advances like carriages (though Gygax himself did incorporate carriages in his latter, non-Greyhawk work), nor an explanation for the mists of Ravenloft that would fit with Greyhawk better.
Methinks Stahd may have fallen victim to Ivid's crazed wizard Xaene.
Try to walk away from the Great Kingdom, eh? Don't want to be a Death Knight, hmm? Fine, let's see what interesting going away present can be conjured up by delving into the Planes of Shadow (am interest of Gygax's at the time Ravenloft arose, wasn't it?).
Funny, I always thought the Clatspurs were a better setting for Ravenloft. But that's just me.
Dave G: Alot of people favor Perrenland area, but it is good that GH is flexible enough to accomodate more than one way.
Of course. That's the fun of something like GH, or any setting for that matter. I just hadn't thought of that area.
