Which Greyhawk Modules To Run?

Okay Greyhawkers, quick random topic because it's a weekend and I haven't got a broader topic until me and Anna Meyer return to Legends & Lore in February. "Which modules have I never ran that I would love to someday?" Go ahead and shoot down these five choices, but everyone's tastes are different of course! I can tell you for certain I've never run these adventures, which is strange because some I've ran more than once, like Greyhawk Ruins or White Plume Mountain. At any rate, here we go in no particular order:

1. Expedition to the Barrier Peaks. With the recent 5E release of the Lost Laboratory of Kwalish, I'm kind of considering this one now.

2. The Sentinel/The Gauntlet. One of my friends I believe had this two part adventure, I acquired them later on, but they always seemed intriguing to me.

3. Falcon's Revenge (and others). Okay I admit I own 2 or 3 of these modules, but have never read through them. Still, it's set in Greyhawk City, it has to be half way good, right? Also, why is Falcon getting revenge in part 1?

4. The Secret of Bone Hill. It's a classic. It's low level. It's by Len Lakofka. Why haven't I ran this?

5. Queen of the Demonweb Pits. I'm pretty sure I've never ran this, I've never been big into drow overall. I do like Lolth though. I ran Baba Yaga's Dancing Hut a million times but not anything drow-themed. What the hell?

That's all for now Greyfriends! What modules do you desire to run?

For Low level starting groups, the Secret of Bone Hill is as good, if not better, than Keep on the Borderlands to start off a Campaign. There is a lot of side treks to do.

The Sentinel and the Gauntlet are just fantastic! Cool story!

I still need to run N1 Against the Cult of the Reptile God. As I stated in my last show about my new 1sts, I will try to work it into the setting!

If you think Loth's "Spider Ship" for Q! is too bizarre, John Turcotte wrote an adaption that is more of an abyssal hack 'n slash: http://www.dementia5.com/downloads/DF16_Skein_of_the_Death_Mother.pdf

Bryce Lynch's review of "Skein of the Death Mother" on his blog TenFootPole is here: https://tenfootpole.org/ironspike/?p=1070

Run Q1. It's a great module and great fun for the players, especially a really skilled group.

I've run The Sentinel and The Gauntlet many times. They're great campaign starters.

All of them.

Matrox: Very cool! Thanks for the recommendation.

Gosumba and Peter: I'm glad to see so much love for Sentinel and Gauntlet. It's also set in the Sea Princes so...;)

Valkaun: LOL. Of course.

Here are five modules or groups of modules that I'd like to run in Greyhawk (but were not necessarily set there originally) but that I've not DM'd yet:

- Erik Mona's "Absolute Power" LG adventures: River of Blood and As He Lay Dying
- Rob Kuntz's Maure Castle adventures: I've run WG5, The Statuary, and Warlock's Walk before, but not Chambers of Antiquities, or The Greater Halls yet
- UK4 When a Star Falls by Graeme Morris; this seems like it should combine well with the Star Cairns and/or The Gates of Firestorm Peak, somehow
- LNA1 Thieves of Lankhmar---Nigel Findley writes good stuff, and I'm sure this would help shape an all-thieves campaign set in the Gem of the Flanaess
- SJR6 Greyspace---also written by Nigel Findley, to be combined with other Roger Dean/Michael Moorcock-inspired escapades

Allan.

Those 3 Maure Castle Dungeon adventures from Paizo's 3.5 reign are some of the most fun I've had in any edition of D&D/Greyhawk. I can't recommend them highly enough. High-level stuff.

I have ran WG5 and Maure, but not the CoA or Greater halls either. Hmm

Where to begin…
Back in the day (old school AD&D DM), my players never made it to/ quit/ didn’t survive the following four. I still want to run them to this day:
• Queen of the Demonweb Pits (as above; the party made it through the Gs & even the Ds… but between the players going to colleges and that insane map…)
• Ravenloft II, Gryphon Hill (I recall they did somewhat finish I6 though)
• Temple of Elemental Evil (never got around to it)
• Tomb of Horrors (yea – I know… it’s a rite of passage. They wouldn’t have found it without “aid”, took the wrong entry, and when they finally got in- died within an hour.)

Diem: Haha I have never run Ravenloft 2 Electric Boogaloo either. I did finish TOEE, it was a slog. Demonweb pits, if I run it I'm skipping straight to Vault of the Drow, no other side quests.
Tomb of Horrors? Well...sounds like you did it right! Next time you run it they will be more careful, its reputation makes it difficult to run now I imagine.

Demonweb Pits again, perhaps.
